We've embarked on three European journeys, all through Viking river cruises. It was fascinating to see buildings predating the United States still functioning, to deepen our understanding of Germany and World War II, to view castles and vineyards dotting the Rhine, Danube, and Elbe rivers, and to discover the cities of Amsterdam, Berlin, Dresden, and Prague.
