Midwestern United States
A road trip in 2013 took us into the Dakotas. The scenery was surprisingly different in each area we visited. The parks were less crowded the others we had visited, and the peace and quiet was enjoyable. When you click on a picture, you will see an enlarged photo and arrows at each side to advance through the images; however, the captions will not be visible in the slideshow.
North Dakota
Theodore Roosevelt National Park was interesting. The park was practically deserted, so we could wander and look all we wanted. It was an enjoyable experience even in the rain.
South Dakota
Badlands National Park is aptly named. It was rugged and desolate but pretty in its own way. Mount Rushmore was like seeing a post card come to life.
